We absolutely LOVE Briar Rose School! The staff are caring, loving but also able to provide direction through structured activities. Their hours are 6:30am- 6:30pm so it fits most schedules without feeling rushed to pick up your child. As a little bonus- they host “date nights” so the parent(s) or guardians can have a night out!
We LOVE Briar Rose SO MUCH!!!!! They are an educational environment that makes my son feel at home! The teachers are loving and patient and stick to a routine and structured schedule which is very beneficial! The class rooms are friendly, safe, welcoming! My son learns lessons, learns Spanish, colors, how to write his name, new songs, I could go on and on!!!! He looks forward to going and has a great time! When I pick him up from school and we are leaving, he says bye to everyone by name as we are walking to the door. LOVE LOVE LOVE this school/daycare <3
I used to love this school. Teacher alexia (ones and twos class) was awesome. Very loving with strong mom vibes. She was very good about incorporating spanish words into their everyday activities. She also was very patient. Now, teacher zalma....not so much. My daughter aged into teacher zalmas class and from the beginning, it always seemed like she was overwhelmed. I get it, lots of kids, lots to watch. My daughter did well there for the most part but had a few issues. In the fall, they took a field trip to a pumpkin patch where my daughter wasn't the best listener so my husband volunteers to go for half the day on their next field trip (the zoo) just to watch our daughter from afar and make sure she's following instructions. She was staying in line, going were directed, and engaging with the class that day. All was well. Then some things got weird. My husband made it clear that he had to leave by a certain time for a medical appt. When speaking to zalma before he left, he made sure to ask her if our daughter has been any trouble today, to which she said no, she's been great but (zalma) doesnt think she can handle her for the rest of the trip. I'm not sure why a behaving child whom u are paid to watch is now too much of a burden? Also, the teacher was taking class photos and seemed to purposefully exclude my daughter. Then in the individual photos, my daughter was also in none of them. My husband noticed this and asked zalma if our daughter could be included and she just brushed him off. He finally asked her in a calm manner why she was leaving out our daughter and told her he felt like she was discriminating against her. Apparently, this was enough to make a whole new scenario in her head where my husband accosted her and raised his voice. When my husband and I went to the school the next day, we told the front desk assistant who i think is one of the directors or managers. We asked if we could speak to or if she would pass a message on to the owner about the situation. Upon returning home, the owner had sent this email... Hello Mariam, It has come to my attention that you have expressed concerns regarding your daughters behavior when attending field trips.Additionally, it was relayed to me that when having this conversation with one of my directors it was not done with civility. We do not tolerate any type of disrespecting or yelling to any of my employees. I would personally like to have a conversation with the both of you to hear your concerns. I know you are out of town and won't be returning till Oct.22nd. Lilliana will not be able to attend school until this conversation has taken place. I tried to contact the owner by phone, in person, and via email to speak to her. No answer. Sadly, she and her staff need lessons on effective communication. My daughter has since been at a new school where she has no issues, the kids are lovely and the teachers patient and nurturing. I would avoid this school at all costs because though they have a few good caregivers, they are better options. Also, side note, as much as we paid, why are the kids eating on coffee filters? I saw it multiple times there. Buy plates, jeez.
My family and I LOVE Briar Rose! Their staff is amazing! They are always on top of everything and so friendly. The owner Melanie is truly the best, I always feel comfortable going to her with any questions or concerns and she has formed a great relationship with my kids and myself. I love that my kids are excited to go to school! We couldn’t ask for a better preschool!
I highly recommend Briar Rose! Not only is it a great, loving environment with caring staff- but my 2 children have learned SO much from their education here. This is a phenomenal preschool! My daughter is off to kindergarten this year, and is so well prepared- math, phonics/letters, social skills- all attributes that she gained from her time spent at Briar Rose. I am so grateful for Melanie and Ivette and all of the teachers- they really do "love our children as their own" and provide a loving, educational setting where my kids leave with a smile every day.
