What Parents Say
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF BULLOCH COUNTY-ELVERA MAYS TEEN CENTER receives mixed reviews. Multiple parents praise the activities, caring staff, and opportunities provided, particularly during summer programs. However, recent reviews indicate significant concerns about leadership changes, staff turnover, inadequate supervision, poor communication, and a decline in the quality of care and environment.
A place just for your kids/child to be watch by older kids. Poor communication, lack of homework help and food! Nothing like years ago when I attended. Can barely keep staff. They do not watch the kids well enough. Love to call a parent phone to tell half of the story and not the full truth. The place just going down year by year. So be very mindful when you sign your child up for BGC OF BULLOCH COUNTY!
My daughter and I moved to Georgia during the beginning of summer this year 2023. Being new and her coming from home school, I needed someplace to introduce new friends and activites. BGC was suggested to me by several local people and we decided to try it. I was able to speak with several staff members who help reassure me that she was in good hands. The warm and caring feeling she and I received from the staff was fantastic and my daughter removed her shell and was genuinely happy and ready to attend every day. Once school started, we decided to continue with BGC for after school however, this portion has been different. Due to issues within the organization itself, leadership has changed which has also changed the atmoshere of the center. Unfortunately, every employee my daughter and I have learned to trust has left. The joyous, energetic, caring feeling is no longer present. My daughter who looked forward to attending BGC now dreads going. We've decided to make this month, September, her last. My daughter has informed me of witnessing leadership yell and be combative with children regarding small issues which causes me concern. Whereas, I understand leadership changes happen however, leadership should recognize that too many changes can lead to an unstable environment if not handled properly. I appreciate the time and energy from all of the previous original staff members and pray they have all gone to bigger and better.
I have taken my kids to celebrate the last day of summer break. What was suppose to be fun has been ruined by these unruly not watched kids!!! They need way more supervision not only were they physically assulting my older kids 7 and 8 but grabbing my daughter's behind she 7 and was very upset! Tried to push my two year old under water while I had a baby in my hands. Worse experience ever at splash in Boro for me and my kids!! The poor life guards are trying their best to make them behave and follow safety rules!!
Great place for your children to do activities and learn. Caring and attentive staff.
My grand daughter goes here and enjoys it. I've been there several times and employees are never nice and help full.
