When my child was ill with a fever, and needed to be taken to the emergency room, I kept her home, and away from her after school program at the boys and girls club for two days. I was told by law that I wasn't allowed to bring her to the program (which I wasn't planning on doing anyway), but I was still REQUIRED to pay for the time she WASN'T at the program. I stated I was a single mother, of two children, working full time, going to school part time, and having financial difficulty paying their "REQUIRED FEE" per the B&G Club policy. They told me there was NOTHING they were willing to do for me because it's "policy," to charge me, and if I didn't pay the fee I would be turned into collections. To add, they also said if I wanted to withdraw my child from the program I was welcome to.. My daughter has been exposed to explosive behavior of another parent at the program, in which the parent was yelling at her child, then smacking her child in the face, in front of my daughter, and other children at the after school program. I have had to ask the staff at our location SEVERAL times to help my daughter with her homework, and they continuously fail to do so. I see weekly movie watching, where the children are sitting in front of a movie, instead of being helped with their homework. The administration has sent me a billing invoice for another child in their program, seemingly to have given me the first and last name of another child in the program. I feel that is very much a safety concern for myself, and others, Considering some privacy information was given out to me. I feel that my daughters name, and childcare location can EASILY be "mistakenly" sent to people I don't know. Other parents should be made aware of this simple "mistake" that was made by the administration. Huge safety concern for my family. So far, I would NOT recommend any family in need of childcare go to the boys and girls club. They have done nothing for my family besides try and make me feel like they are doing me a favor by accepting my CCAP.

I think that boys and girls club is wonderful but I have one comment. Why is the centers close when most parents need them the most. They are close during Christmas and summer break for the kids under 10.
