I am a non-binary person. I walk by almost every day for work. The "Boys and Girls" sign used to make me a little sad, because not all youth are boys or girls. Today I walked by and saw a new sign that says "The Club" and it made me so happy. Queer youth need you. Thank you for showing up for them. You are saving lives.
The Boys and Girls Club of Brattleboro was my second home from when I was 12 to 18. They gave me a safe enviroment, meals, a family, and friends. They help you grow into great humans and are always there for you. A great place to be and spend time. Safe, friendly.
I just had a awful experience with a woman at the boys and girls club. She was not welcoming, acted completely unfriendly, wasn’t helpful. I’m really disappointed because I walked in very excited to talk with someone about my child’s birthday party. I won’t be trying to utilize them in the future if that’s how it goes.
