Very few places have indoor pool, basketball, and exercise housed together
Great place that gives everyone a chance to enjoy sports and have fun. Lots of children activities and a great gym for adults. Great pool. Overall a wonderful hometown place that's active in the community
Great staff, so friendly, Great equipment!
The Boonslick YMCA is located in part of what was once Kemper Military School. It offers reasonable gym memberships, an indoor pool, basketball courts, as well as a multitude of classes. The gym itself has a wide variety of equipment and traditional weights, locker rooms, and WiFi access. I was happy with the cost of 24 hour access there. It seemed busy after 3pm, but barring peak hours the gym itself has little activity, allowing for basically private access to the place. Personally when I would go it would be very late at night and I would see, maybe, one other person. The facility itself is clean and well equipped for solo or partner workouts. Dumbbells stemming from two to well over 100lbs, multiple racks, benches, bars, and other traditional power-lifting equipment. Multiple treadmills, resistance machines, a stair stepper, pull-up bars, and on and on. If you can't get in shape using the equipment they have there, that's on you, and no fault of the facility. The men's locker room smelled bad, but if you go when someone's at the front desk they let you "rent" a locker for free; otherwise there's a small monthly fee. As far as classes go, I didn't attend any but judging from the advertisements I saw there they offer a wide variety of things, schedule allowing.
It’s truly always something with this gym. I get that you need to close for bad weather but when you take my money for a visitors pass and tell me you’re closed when the staff is literally in the office and there’s other people working out, how does that make any sense?
