What Parents Say
This facility appears to be a gym/fitness center rather than a daycare, based on all reviews mentioning gym equipment, trainers, and fitness classes. Reviews consistently praise the friendly and welcoming staff, clean facilities, and quality instruction.
Friend brought me to try it out. Great variety of facilities, clean, and friendly and helpful staff. Audra is great at answering questions! There is even a women's only area!
I recently joined Trufit and while setting up my membership I was offered 3 sessions with a trainer. Considering I’m inexperienced I went ahead and purchased. I finally got with a trainer and set up a schedule. Show up 30 minutes early walked on treadmill for 25. Went to front desk and was informed my trainer was going a little longer on his client so he suggested I go warm up. I informed him I was already warm. He said go to the workout area and that Jon my trainer would come get me when he finished. Not the case at all Jon finally finished with his training and walked to the front talking with staff. I was in clear shot of him and noticed he was not coming over to the area I was instructed to wait at. I approached the front where he was standing and asked if we were going to train and he said it wasn’t his job to come find me. I’m wish no one any ill will and I do not appreciate how I was treated by the training manager. So I wouldn’t recommend and training sessions when buying a membership at this location. He clearly thinks very highly of himself only. The toilets are always colorful probably need more attention than once a day.
Jaevon (Pitbull) was sooo nice. Super attentive, very caring. Made sure we were comfortable and my westy bestieeeeee.
Be careful of infection and possibly wear a mask. I usually wouldn’t leave a negative review however the person at the front desk said, “if you want something done your best bet would be to leave a Google review”. So here we are… I arrived at the gym today and as always I went to the locker room first. I immediately noticed how filthy it was with trash cans overflowing and toilet paper all over the floors. I thought I’ll go ahead and let the people working know. As I walked back to the front desk I then noticed all the trash cans were overflowing. Entering the office area two employees sitting behind their desk both scrolling on their phones looked up at the same time and said, “yes sir how may we help”…. I then told them about the filth in the locker room and all trash cans being filled beyond max. I was then told the cleaning crew was just fired and they were working on replacements. I figured they would take action and get the issue resolved. I then went to cardio machines on 2nd floor. As I worked out for next hour I watched the same two employees scroll on their phones and click on their computers disregarding everything going on in the gym. As I finished my workout I took some pictures on the way out (this was 1.5 hours after I told employees). Long story short this facility could be great however truly lacking leadership and accountability.
I want to start by saying the front desk staff at TruFit on 82nd Street are excellent. They are consistently friendly, welcoming, and clearly try to give members and guests a good experience. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. My experience today with the general manager was extremely disappointing. His approach was belittling and unprofessional, especially while I was simply trying to use a guest pass with a friend. The guest fee is $20, and the interaction made the situation uncomfortable enough that it disrupted our workout entirely. Beyond the interaction, the condition of the equipment is unacceptable. A significant portion of the machines are either broken, missing cables, or not functional at all. When you combine poor leadership with poorly maintained equipment, it reflects directly on how this gym is being run. A gym is often a reflection of its management, and unfortunately this location reflects that clearly. Until there are changes in both leadership and equipment maintenance, I would not recommend this location. I will be at crunch or club 4 fitness.
