I lead a unique charity preschool nearby for very young, underprivileged children called Project One Day. In doing research for creating our school I toured many, many others. Blossom Heights stuck with me. My own children are grown now, but if I had it to do over again Blossom Heights would likely be top of that list. The owner has a deep understanding of the needs of children and their longing to explore their environment. The children appeared happy and engaged and the space was truly unique.
Blossom Heights is my home away from home. Linda has created a magical place for kids to be kids. The staff is so well trained and they truly love the kids. If you’re looking for a place for your preschooler to get dirty, learn to take care of each other and the earth, learn lifelong social-emotional skills, and have the best time outside, THIS IS IT. Amazing school! It is like no other. They spend over half the day outside and even eat lunch outside. They play, have fun, and get messy! They've recently expanded with a new building and added kindergarten. What a wonderful home away from home! We actually started our child at a different school this past fall (for personal convenience reasons) and decided we liked Blossom so much better that we pulled her out and moved her back to Blossom Heights. She's 4 and has been there since 20mo. I was a former Montessori teacher, but I knew I didn't want that for my toddler because of the lack of creative exploration. I chose Blossom because of the play based focus, extended outdoor time, and environmental awareness. They are very respectful of the children and use deliberate language to enforce the philosophies they believe in.
I discovered Blossom Heights in 2019, and upon touring, I immediately knew that I wanted to send my son to this magical place. Fast forward 5 years, and my two younger children are still enrolled. This school truly understands childhood, and how to best preserve it. Children get to spend their time outdoors and exploring, learning organically. I loved the environment so much, that I became a teacher at the school! 10/10, highly recommend to everyone in the area.
I feel so fortunate to have found Blossom Heights, and only wish I would have discovered it sooner. My children (3&5) got to experience two glorious years there, and I am so grateful for their time. The school focuses on the individual child's needs & desires through thoughtful play-based provocations, discussions and genuine engagement. The teachers and staff guide the kiddos beautifully through their own journeys, and have created an environment that builds confidence, imagination and excitement for learning. I cannot speak highly enough of Blossom Heights and hope your family has the opportunity to experience it for yourselves.
