Where we decide to send our kids for early learning/daycare is a big deal! We transferred to BSLF from a different daycare center after being fed up with director/staff turnover and not recognizing faces that were caring for our kids—and it was the best decision!! Looking back, I wonder why we didn’t do it sooner. My two kids joined BSLF in early preschool and young 5 rooms and they both were able to express how awesome “school” became. These kids are outside all the time, the center is run so professionally with very loving staff. And because it’s a bigger center with multiple rooms per age group- they really try to find the right teacher/student fit. There is always someone there to greet you in the morning at drop off or in the evening at pick-up. While we were not initially looking to send kids to a Christian early learning center- we have found that aspect to be a great conversation starter at home and something ours kids have really enjoyed. I am so grateful that I have a reliable, safe and loving place to send our kids. Also- one of the perks about having our kids at BSLF, as working parents, is that snow days or random school days off aren’t an issue- care is easily arranged! Thank you, BSLF! We appreciate all that you guys do!!
Our family has truly enjoyed our time at BSLF. So much so, that we decided to have another child in order to keep coming! 😉 The staff are easy to work with and we are looking forward to having some of our favorite teachers again in the coming years. Ms. Rebekah’s bible time has helped our children come to know Jesus through fun songs and engaging storytelling. The class field trips help to break up the monotony that can come with year round learning, with the annual fishing adventure at Ada Park be top of the list for our crew! We are especially thankful for the center’s reliability, namely staff commitment to showing up, even in Michigan’s unpredictable winter weather. We also appreciate the emphasis placed on partnership between staff and parents by the leadership team. They have included parents in feedback/planning surveys, encouraged us to engage with the teachers regarding our children, allowed for appreciation opportunities for both staff (parties and donations) and parents (random coffee available in the lobby at drop off!). The teachers are incredible. They give my boys a true “mom-away-from-home” feeling and take such great care of them. The directors and staff are just as amazing- warm, organized, and always engaged with the kids. The school is clean, structured, and full of age-appropriate learning, with lots of exploration, hands-on activities, and fun experiences like field trips. My boys have grown so much here, both educationally and socially. We’re so grateful for BSLF.
Our child has had an amazing five years at BSLF. It is truly a gift to find a place where you are confident your child is in a safe, nurturing, and learning environment. The teachers and staff genuinely care about each child being the best versions of themselves.
Our Son was at Big Steps for Preschool and After school care for 3 years and we could not have asked for a better experience. All of his teachers were marvelous and caring. The curriculum was engaging and really helped our son get ready for Kindergarten. I would highly recommend Big Steps to anyone looking for Preschool or after school care.
