What Parents Say
Bibb County School District Afterschool Programs receives mixed reviews with a 2.1/5 rating. While one parent praised improvements under Superintendent Curtis Jones, the majority of reviews are highly critical, citing poor management, inadequate staff, lack of support for special needs students, and general disorganization.
We were considering a relocation to this area. After seeing the abhorrent treatment of a free press journalist, I am extremely concerned about what the school system is teaching. This does not exclude to horrible behavior of the police. Bibb County School District as well as the Sheriff/PD have now opened the door to a Federal Civil Rights lawsuit.
Since my last review 7 years ago the School System hired Curtis Jones and there have been changes at the school board as well. I cannot say enough about the strength of the changes under Superintenedent Jones. I can let others do the talking for me: He won the National Superintendent of the Year. Only 4 stars because it can still get better and it is on the path to do so.
Mom of 5 here. All I can say is yikes. To me, it seems the only public school in Bibb County that must go against the norm and takes initiative to be better, is Heritage Elementary. I'm not sure if it's the school board not taking charge or the families of kids attending that don't help, but I've lived in rougher cities that had better schools. EVERYONE can do better to help.
They dont even deserve a 1 if your child has any kind of special needs dont do it i have yet to meet the new super but his staff are rude his teachers dont care and some of the principle are just for show they do not help they make things worse and wonder why parents dont want to set down to talk them.
Just terrible customer service and unorganized
