Best Friends Daycare

My boys have grown up at this daycare. The staff are extremely loving and caring. They’re very attentive and call if they are concerned about my sons asthma which I greatly appreciate. I feel like my kids are being cared for by family and can find peace in knowing that they are in good hands while at best friends. I love how the baby center is in its own peaceful building. The pre-k program helped prepare my oldest for school. The latchkey program and summer camp programs are wonderful. The summer camp includes weekly swimming, trips to the park, and field trips. I can’t say enough good things about best friends in New Cumberland. I highly recommend this location.

I would love to give a positive review for the New Cumberland location here, but simply cannot. Although our child seems to enjoy attending this day care, the personnel are not the friendliest we've ever met. Whether it is intended or not, our perception of some of the interactions with staff left us feeling angry and frustrated. Trying to address the issue yielded no improvement. Although the location may be convenient versus going to another location, you will have to decide for yourself and your child if the convenience is worth the sometimes stressful interactions with staff.

We really like Best Friends. Both my boys go there. Teachers are really caring and it's very clean. They bus my 5 year old to pm public kindergarten, but he learns a lot there in the morning. I am really thankful to have found this day care. We actually moved them from another day care very close by and Best Friends is 10 fold better for us.

They hire 18 year olds with no training And throw them in rooms, and don’t verify the workers are actually caring for the kids. They just want bodies there in the rooms. Also have experience with their rossmoyne latchkey program- terrible- the young girl that works there has no experience with children and again is just a body- if there’s work required such as teaching kids how to behave socially she just says she’d rather them not come back with no given interventions.

So in order for any lice bugs to get on someone's hair. It takes only 1 bug from another person's head. Then it takes 2 weeks for any eggs to hatch. The teacher kept finding only 1 bug on my daughters hair. Singled her out of all other kids and the director said oh its just your daughter that has it. Ok. That's why I contacted pennstate to get the correct information about lice and how you guys treated my daughter and I was wrong. I reported this daycare to the child care line. No one even notified any of the kids parents when their kids were with my daughter in the same class On top of that when I was notified to pick my daughter up tand that she had lice. They had her in the same room with the same class mates. Still did not notify any of Thor parents. This place needs investigated.
