What Parents Say
Bennett Babies LL has received mixed to severely negative feedback from parents. While a few early reviews praised the friendly staff and welcoming environment, the majority of recent reviews report serious concerns including inadequate supervision, staff yelling at children, poor hygiene, lack of communication with parents, and documented incidents of child injury.
This was my sons first experience outside of COVID in an establishment and he absolutely loves the whole experience. He adapted right away. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Professional clean and very family friendly!!!
I don't have too many complaints. My daughter has been going there for a year now. I had a good rapport with her first set of teachers but she graduated to an older class. Now I don't get a chance to see her teacher often because I drop her off early. AT first, she was beginning to use the toilet but since she has been in the older class, she has regressed to the pull-ups. No one can explain to me why she isn't being offered the potty. I regards to the kitchen where they prepare food, it's not like people are able to walk through to inspect the kitchen. The meals are catered from a company and I usually drop my daughter off when the company arrives with breakfast. I never smell any out of the ordinary foul smell coming from the kitchen or the food. My child is very picky with her food and I have witnessed her eating it and not getting sick (I work in pediatric healthcare). The other complaint that I have is that I participated in a fundraiser and someone ordered a gift card and when they went to use it, it wasn't activated. The sponsor of the fundraiser (Ms. Walker-Jones) wouldn't refund the money nor did she have a receipt to verify that the card was activated. I had to refund the person out of my own pocket. I will never participate in a fundraiser again. Overall, I feel that my child is safe. No place is perfect. I have worked in child care before and you can never please every parent!!
The worse childcare ever....No one is ever there to receive my child in her classroom when they first open I have to send her with kids much older than her. They DON'T send notices home AT ALL letting parents know of school closings, half days, or field trips so if you personally don't drop your child off yourself be prepared to not know anything that's going on at the school with your child. They don't even send notices home stating what your child did or ate which would be helpful. The staff there either don't speak English or are mentally challenged and they act as it'll they don't understand what you are saying. I'm a first time parent who was trying this non-traditional daycare out and it was horrible!!!!! I found myself asking the director to many times if she could handle these problems. They sent my child home with a sippy cup that had old milk in it and they put another babies pacifier in her mouth she never had a diaper rash until she started there meaning they left her diapers on her for a long period of time. I even caught the teacher sleeping in the class full of children I literally walked in the room unnoticed and stood there for 30min and she didn't even know because she was sleep. The kitchen they prepare the children food in is nasty it smells as if something died in it and it's dirty.. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the picture I would not choose this daycare as my LAST resort!
I work in an adjacent building. When I started working here, I thought it would be very convenient to have a day care so close by for my future baby. After watching the staff here with the babies and toddlers, I feel awful for the parents of the kids who go there and definitely not be sending my own child to them. Things I have witnessed multiple times/consistently include: -taking the kids outside in those 6-seater strollers, keeping them all strapped into it (mostly crying or being fed whatever junk food the staff is eating to keep them quiet) for up to a half an hour while the staff gossips, and then turning around and wheeling back to the day care. Is this supposed to consist of their outdoor or recess time? -dragging toddlers along the sidewalk because they weren't moving fast enough for the staff's liking -loud yelling and screaming amongst the staff while the kids are with them -yelling at little children for crying or for minor behavioral issues That's not to say that every staff member does this or that every child is subjected to this. I have seen staff lovingly hold a baby while the older babies were being pushed. I have seen them laughing with children. I don't know what happens indoors. But this is what I have seen outside, when the staff knows they are in public; I suspect the behavior is worse in the building, where members of the public are not there to witness things. The yelling is a dealbreaker on its own, and lack of enrichment activities while outdoors, and feeding them popcorn or whatever else came out of a vending machine while standing around gossipping or fighting also ought to be enough to give any parent pause before entrusting the care of one's baby to them.
Parents, beware of bringing your children to this facility. I work in a nearby building and observe the outdoor playtime of the children on a weekly basis. Today I was disturbed enough to write a review. For the entire recess period, the children are berated and yelled at by the staff. While one adult yells at the kids, the other worker sits on a bench staring at their phone. The managers of this facility should ban their workers from being on their phones while taking care of children. I am writing this as I hear the workers yelling at the kids (one worker just told a child to "SHUT UP and GET IN LINE!!"). I know it's sometimes frustrating to work with small children, but verbally harassing and screaming at them is just cruel. I tried calling the manager to report this incident but the phone just rang and rang.
