What Parents Say
Beginning Our Future Learning Center receives predominantly positive feedback from parents who praise the caring staff, cleanliness, and welcoming environment. However, there are concerns raised about safety protocols during inclement weather and inconsistent handling of food allergies.
Wonderful place. Sherry is so kind and truly loves what she does along with her staff. One of the hardest jobs in the world! Especially during these times when childcare is so rare And hard to come by. With Daycare's closing left and right due to rising property cost and rent cost. It's good to see you guys are still open.
With the exception of the director of the childcare facility (she likes to cut you off when your talking and constantly remind you of her title) the rest of the staff seems very attentive and polite. We had an issue because our 4 year old has a food allergy. One staff member said that a lot of their menu didn't contain any of her allergens....but then we hear from another staff member that she adds ingredients in everything. We packed our child's lunch daily to just avoid any unnecessary exposure with healthy options and had no issue paying for full time care even tho she would only be attending 2 to 3 days of the week. We were constantly criticized about providing lunch options that "matched" what they were serving. Because they didn't want the other kids to question why they couldn't have a PBJ sandwich when they were getting macaroni and cheese. The final straw was having to miss a day of work to go pick her up when they called mid morning wanting us to bring something that resembled their lunch option for her to eat. Our child came home hungry everyday she attended with a mostly full lunch box. I get that they are trying to be "fair" to the other kids but they did it at the cost of singling out our child. For what they offer there is a lot of cheaper options. With less hassle. While this review sounds negative. I will say the interactions with the rest of the staff were always great and professional.
I have never encountered a childcare director as rude and rigid as this one. Maybe others had a good experience here, unfortunately we did not. We only needed care for 2-3 days a week, and we were completely fine paying the full amount. I was asked to provide proof of my daughter’s food allergy from an allergist, which I did. I provided shot record, physical, etc. I was given a hard time and rude attitude from the director from the start. I assured her I could provide my daughter’s lunch/snacks for the 2 days a week she’d be there. Twice now, they’ve complained about the uncrustable sandwich I’ve packed, saying it’s not fair to the other children. Any snacks (which are healthy, non-dairy alternatives) I’ve packed her have come back in her lunchbag. This morning, I had to leave work because they called to complain that I packed my daughter a sandwich again instead of a “dairy free” version of the chicken and rice they were having today. And also that I needed to bring almond milk for her (even though my daughter doesn’t drink just straight almond milk), they want some sort of milk to offer her even if she doesn’t drink it. I’ve never ever heard of a daycare requiring a child with allergies to have a dairy-free replica of whatever they’re offering at the daycare that day. Needless to say, I enrolled her elsewhere and what do you know… I am more than welcome to pack my daughters lunch every day.
I moved my son here from another daycare and it’s been nothing short of amazing I feel much more confident sending my son here then the previous one. They are so kind and accommodating, and clean my son doesn’t come home with white socks that are black at the end of the day. My friend referred us here all 4 four of her kids have gone here and I couldn’t be happier I switched to this wonderful daycare.
My grandson was bit 10 times and only 4 times was a report written up. One time my daughter wasn't notified because they didn't know he was bit. They blamed grandson for it each time. He got staff infection 2 times. When my daughter and son in law said anything, they were treated as if they were the problem. Then my grandsons last day one worker said they didn't care where they put my grandson for the day, not knowing my daughter was still in the building and heard every word. Needless to say, she took him home. Very unprofessional. They removed her review already. Surely mine will be next.
