My son has been enrolled at this daycare for 7 months. While I had a few concerns early on, the last 3 weeks are what prompted this review. My son is very active and has a speech delay, which can sometimes show up in his behavior. His doctors have explained that much of what they see is tied to his speech, and we are waiting for an evaluation with a behavioral pediatrician. Unfortunately, the daycare was not willing to be patient during this process. It’s important to note that many of the behaviors they suddenly became concerned about are very recent—starting right after he turned two, which most parents know as the “terrible twos.” Rather than recognizing this as a normal developmental stage, being patient & working with me, the daycare treated it as something abnormal. Every time I asked if they had tried different approaches, the response was always “I can’t.” The only suggestions ever made came from me, which is concerning given how much time the staff spend with my son. Instead of collaborating or offering strategies, they told me he needed a diagnosis—even after I explained he was already on a waitlist. The owner even gave me an ultimatum, which felt very unfair and unprofessional. She also mentioned that in her 25 years of running a daycare, she had “never seen a child like my son,” even pointing out something as simple as him standing on his head—something many children do. Comments like this made it clear that instead of supporting his development, they were labeling him. What concerns me most is that in seven months, they didn’t even realize he could talk at all until I told them, which raises serious concerns about how engaged they were with him on a daily basis. Daycare should be a partnership between staff and parents, especially when a child may need extra patience or support. Even without being doctors, experienced childcare providers should be able to suggest techniques and work alongside parents while waiting for medical evaluations. Sadly, I did not feel that partnership here. In the end, I learned that you really do get what you pay for, and not every business is equipped to truly support every child.
My daughter attended Beautiful Beginnings from the age of 2yrs old to 4yrs old. Staff is awesome and curriculum is great. Now that my daughter is in Pre-K she is top in her class though she is the youngest in the class. She started off with Mrs.Tenessa and before she left she had Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Lucas. These ladies are AMAZING. All these woman are great not only with teaching your child but also loving them like their own. It was always great knowing that the entire staff had my child’s best interest at hand. I loved the fact that no matter who was at the front desk they always knew me by name and knew exactly who my child was! Mrs Michelle is always so pleasant and on top of everything. Mrs. Wanda and staff THANKS YOU SO MUCH!!!! We’ll be by to visit soon Aniyah always talks about stopping by to say hello… 🥰😍🥰
THEY CALL ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING. IF A CHILD BLINKS 1 TOO MANY TIMES THEY ARE CALLING UP THE PARENTS. POINTLESS OF LEAVING YOUR CHILD AT DAYCARE IF THEY ARE GOING TO KEEP NAGGING THE WHOLE DAY. BAD ATTITUDES AND “ONLY THERE TO COLLECT A CHECK” vibes. Says a lot about the place when even the kids don’t even want to go.
