As a parent that has had family members attend Bay Colony Children’s House for years, as well as my own children now, I have nothing but positive things to say! Starting with the teachers who my children absolutely love and are excited to go to a school everyday, and make us (parents) feel like family, to the directors who not only update you on what’s going on and willing to work with all children no matter the situation is amazing and puts my mind at ease. The directors always choose the right teachers (ones that make the Center feel like home)! If you are looking for a BABYSITTER, then this not the right path for you. But if you are looking for a Montessori Center that TEACHES your children to get ready for primary school as well love on them, this is the right place to go!

If I could give this daycare 0 stars I would. They put my first time kindergartner (5 year old, new to the neighborhood) on the wrong school bus on her first day of school. I knew what bus # she was assigned to, I made sure I spoke with her daycare morning teacher to confirm bus info, she reassured be everything will be fine, even showed me their school bus binder to double check their bus info was correct. My little kid knew her bus number too and she knew where to look for the number on the bus. Once I got to work, I called daycare to check in on how it went, they said she went on the bus safely, everything went great. I messaged her kindergarten teacher to check in on my kid….her teacher said she never made it to school. My heart fell into my stomach. Meanwhile my kid gets dropped off at a totally different school than what she was shown, she knew she was at the wrong school, she was very confused and scared. Luckily, the wrong school found her, and called the right school to notify them they had their student. That’s when the right school called and notified me. I had to go pick up my little girl and take her to her school. I was also 9 months pregnant working downtown. My little girl told me that she tried to tell the daycare teacher that she was being put on the wrong bus, but was told to hush and get in. Ms. Arcy or Arely (I can’t remember) the head administrator, gave me nothing but excuses as to how it happened. They were short staffed and two daycare workers called in and one was running late. She was apologetic at all. Mind you, my little girl was already in their summer program before the school year started, my little girl hated it. (I told my self, she just maybe needed to get adjusted to the change) i noticed In the 5 year old class room, the girls sat at a different table than the boys, when I asked the daycare worker why, she said they had to be segregated because the boys didn’t play well with each other. Every day she would come home telling me how much she hate it there. At bedtime she would cry because she knew she had to go to bay colony children’s house the next day. Pulling her out of that hell was the best thing I ever did. I will NEVER enroll my child into a daycare out of convenience. My neighbor also told me that her son was forgotten at the daycare playground for over an hour, that’s why she pulled him out too. I’m tell yall, don’t do it. It’s not worth your kids trauma. Yes, it might look nice when you do the walk through, yes they can swear up and down that they strictly follow the daycare guidelines, but how good is that when the teachers don’t genuinely love the kiddos. You can tell they are there because they have to. You can also throw the communication out the window. Don’t even get me started on that.

My kids went here for a couple of years before they had to transfer to another school district. They were very personable and very communicative. They always had fun activities especially during the summer. They were quick to response with any concerns I had and quick to make it right. They truly cared about the kids and it showed. When asked about their day they only had good things to say. We will miss BCCH!

We moved to Dickinson on August 2012 and we stayed in this area till Nov 2013. Before moving, I visited most the daycare centers in that area but we had chosen this one based on our visit and reviews on reviews on Texas government official website. Our first son faced some difficulties in the beginning till he used to it and this is expected. Since then, he loved the daycare and both my wife and myself liked too. What we liked most: - the manager is smiling most of the time and is very welcoming. - our kid learned colors, letters, numbers and many skills like putting on and taking off clothes. - the manager knows a lot about our kid as if he is the only kid. For example, we noticed that his appetite was low for few days and we did not know the reason. Then, she called me and told me that he had an ulcer on the side of his tongue and that was likely the reason. When we had our second son, we took to the same daycare and he was doing well as well. We moved out from Dickinson and we would love to take our kids back to the same daycare when we move back to Dickinson or around it.

My daughter has been going here since she was 12 weeks old and I could not be any happier with this daycare facility!!! She is now 21months old and I am amazed with how much they teach the kids from daily crafts , reading in small groups and even sign language!!! Not to mention the teachers, manager, and even the owner is soooo involved With the kids. I am truly grateful that I can be at peace at work and know they take care of my child. It's a great reassurance to know that I can trust everyone there and know my child at such an early age is being taught the things she knows!!! Overall great facility, clean, nice play ground, security code is needed to open any door and most importantly my daughter is always happy when I pick her up ! A big thumbs up !!!
