What Parents Say
This facility appears to be a church and school rather than a traditional daycare center. Most reviews are highly positive, praising the church community, biblical teaching, and welcoming environment. However, a few negative reviews cite concerns about worship practices diverging from traditional Seventh-day Adventist customs and interpersonal conflicts.
I must say I am surprised, a lot of these comments I'm seeing on here don't seem to reflect the values of the Seventh-Day advantage Church. I am from White Marsh, Maryland, move to Tennessee where I truly believe that the Lord led me to a SDA Church here in town. That was a few years ago. Since then I have been baptized in the church and I really look forward to going every Sabbath morning, as well as participating in several Church functions. I can't wait to stop in the next time I'm up in town visiting my son's.
This was the most unsettling church service I’ve ever attended at a Seventh-day Adventist church, the only faith I've known since birth. Traditionally, our worship does not involve clapping; instead, we focus on worshiping in spirit and truth, emphasizing meditation. Today was Youth Day, and from the very beginning, there was a constant flow of clapping for every performance, whether it was singing or making announcements. In an unexpected turn, hip-hop music was played alongside a gospel song, which is not something we practice in our faith. In fact, just a moment after a prayer concluded, they started a hip-hop song, and everyone clapped along. What has happened to our community? Adding to the disarray, a man took pictures non-stop, likely snapping around 300 photos. The dress code was astonishingly relaxed; participants at the podium wore jewelry, multiple piercings, and heavy makeup, while other attendees sported the tightest and most revealing clothing they could find. Why is this allowed? Is this why we use people’s tithes and offerings to build such a massive church? Concernedly, I wonder why no one is speaking out. Is this truly what we consider worship? Thankfully, the sermon was exceptional, although the preacher was not from this location. Having attended multiple Seventh-day Adventist churches across Maryland, I can sincerely say this experience was the most disheartening. It's crucial to remember the value of intimacy and deep connections in our faith. The early church was characterized by close relationships, shared lives, and mutual support (Acts 2:42-47). Large congregations may struggle to foster that same level of intimacy, often leading members to feel isolated or like just a "number, not a name."
This church used me, took advantage of me, and then trashed my name, acted like victims, when I spoke up for myself. They had little to no concern about possibly ruining my career. Their denomination is the most biblically accurate, but I did not see the best representation of it here. There were some good/ nice people here, but still.
I was re-Baptized here !! It's not just a church it's family and connected all around the world no matter I go, I have a home and a family. But, yes it's always nice to come back to where it all began. (this is where the body of Christ is headed anyway). Many thanks to the wonderful Pastor Diego always speaking the true word of God !!
