What Parents Say
Longfellow receives mostly positive feedback from parents, particularly regarding caring and welcoming staff, supportive environment for children with special needs, and small family-like atmosphere. However, one parent raised concerns about the principal denying services to children with disabilities.
We love Longfellow! My oldest started at 3 years old and had Mrs R. He was in the moderate to server special needs class until June of this year. She is absolutely lovely and fantastic at her job. Her aids are the sweetest and make each child feel special and welcome. The school is small and has a great small town feel as well. It feels like a little family for us. My youngest just started this week and had a hard time with the transition, but Mrs R was there to welcome him and make us all feel at ease. He has a different teacher than my oldest, but they have been really wonderful and welcoming as well. Thank you to Longfellow for making our first school experiences extra smooth and easy! Looking forward to more memories in the new year ✨
We have an functional autistic son and we received from Mrs. Ford very constructive support within the enrollment process. The environment within the entire school is very positive. A set of friendly and clear rules provides children with clarity about "what is right and what is wrong" for their future life and not a laissez-faire atmosphere where children are disoriented about their capabilities, means or attitudes. As parents we would like to thank the entire school staff for their friendliness, help and support in any and every sense. We are VERY THANKFUL, because our son tremendously improved in his social skills at home as well and attribute it to the time spend in school. The first school year can be for any and every child the most decisive in its entire school curriculum and thus a solid foundation is of essence.
Beware. Leslie Ford is a mean principal. If you have a child with disability she's going to try to deny them services.Get informed and know your rights. I don't know if she gets any rewards for denying services. She even is going to try lo blame you if your child is behind in any area. Be careful.
