I hesitated to say anything for a while because I do love this Y. Even with the lack of machines and people having full blown conversations on them and not working out. But the rules only apply to certain people. I remember when I first came I didn’t have any shorts. I was told to leave because I needed to have workout gear. No problem I frequently see people working out in jeans. No one says anything. Also I find the cell phones in the locker room thing to be funny. Most people work out with music on. Which comes from their phone. What are you supposed to do? Put your phone in the car and then use the locker room. The locker room with the steam room has turned into a “hangout area”. You’re supposed to just do what you need to do and go. If you were worried about that instead of people “taking pictures of you” then maybe it wouldn’t be an issue. Not everyone is using their phones inappropriately. If someone is using their phone inappropriately then report them. That simple. I can assure you that you’re not that important. I remember vividly being harassed in the stream room by an old man telling me that “people from my country in Africa have such impressive bodies”. I kept it moving. It’s like a VFW hangout in there now where people just like to share their political opinions instead of just washing up and moving on with their life.

I’ve been really disappointed with how this YMCA handled a serious situation. I witnessed a man masturbating in the sauna and immediately reported it to the front desk. The employee just said, “Oh wow, I had a friend who had that something like that happen at another gym thanks for still staying with us" and didn’t do anything to address it. He said he would go down and check it out. Later, I saw the same guy walking around the facility like nothing happened, which made me feel completely unsafe. On top of that, the same employee failed to process my membership cancellation that I submitted back in August, and I’ve been billed every month since. When I called recently, the response was basically, “We’ll see if we can put it back on your card.” This is not what you expect from a place that’s supposed to be about community and safety. The staff need serious training on how to handle both customer service and serious conduct issues.

My three kids have been taking swim lessons here all school year-2 in preschool swim & 1 in teen swim. The improvement from last summer to this summer in each of them is HUGE! They're all so much more comfortable & confident in water & I owe it all to our Y. Thank you Jumee & Joe!

Its definitely frustrating coming here around noon when the teens are there. Many of them just stand in herds and dont even use the machines. Backpacks in the middle of the gym, half of them don't know how to work out and play on the machines. The staff does nothing about this and let's them run around. The best is when they sit on a machine and are on it 20 minutes scrolling. Do better YMCA. Also update, I was in the steamroom and a member dropped his pants and started to pleasure himself i immediately left...I told the front desk and they said they'd check it out. A week later I saw the same guy in the building, so clearly nothing was done. Im ending my membership with these people. Safety should be key and if staff doesn't take these kind of complaints seriously then I dont want to be there. Imagine if there was a kid involved, keep your kids safe here..

Having two different pools is a big plus especially the warmer Balfour pool. The men's lockers near the pool need to be replaced. The gym equipment overall is pretty good. Could use some upgrades and additions. Attachments for cable machine in basement.
