Perfect for apartments. While I have not had a claim, I have had some issues at move out (auto payment when not needed/extended for a month/etc.) and their customer service is incredible. Both over the phone and chat I had a live agent and resolutions right away. Good service is hard to find. They are great with that and I will continue to use them.

Was on call for 2 and a half hours, all I needed was a receipt/proof of purchase of a warranty replacement device that included the IMEI number, to prove that I own the phone free and clear. And no one was able to provide, said it was a carrier matter, and the carrier would tell me it's an Assurant matter because they are the ones who replaced the device. Unbelievable the inability of the personnel to achieve said task.

Second night in my mobile home, Hurricane Helene flooded the area. Damaged my Vapor barrier, subfloor and flooring. From underneath. Burned something out(a relay switch) under the home causing me to lose electric to 2 ceiling fans, closet lights, garbage disposal and outlets. My foundation sank on one end of the home. No one came out for months. By then the insulation had spread moisture causing the floor damage. Spreading to walls. I had 2 inspections with pictures available done within 52 days of the hurricane, because I had just bought the home. I went through 3 adjusters. First one finally quit and told me to seek counsel because Assurant wasn’t paying anyone anything anymore. He said it was obviously flood damage. Per their policy, to see if the home was even safe (his words) He sent out an engineer that said my damage was normal wear and tear! He also said I had the water damage because of a roof leak. No one would show me any proof or indication there is or ever was a roof leak! My roof was 2 years old! The only thing they paid for was my air conditioning unit and all the duct work because it was full of water and my air/heat unit was 1/2 was up under water! They Only paid for that because I threatened them because I have respiratory illness. This company charges me $2000 a year for flood insurance. So I’m giving my money away for nothing. I’ve been denied all damages. I don’t even think they addressed the electrical issues! They never said another word about that. They didn’t listen. They didn’t care. And they have no intention of giving you what you pay for. As you can see, my house was definitely flooded underneath! These pics were taken from my windows because I couldn’t open doors. Please tell me how flooding this high could NOT damage my floors from underneath?!? Find another company! This one in Florida will deny you! I’m sick on oxygen and it’s ruined my life!!

I would not advise anyone to get a policy with Assurant. They are nothing but a scam. You won't be covered. The only thing they are not realizing is that besides for just leaving a bad review which seems to be what all their policy holders claim but they ran into the wrong person that will actually hold them accountable to the highest standards and im already deeply in the work of that. I basically had ongoing issues in my apartment for months with AC leaks and sheetrock damage and mold.. I kept reporting it to maintenance until all my clothing was filled with mold. The building called a professional inspection which confirmed major AC leaks, my building ended up bringing a portable AC and then completely installing a brand new AC plus do major renovations. All evidence is very clear and pure and is covered very clear under my policy.they treated the entire claim just shoving it off, trying to misinterperate their policy language and now, although all evidence is too very clear that there was AC leaks and water discharge they denied the claim saying it was due to air humidity.. are you serious? Even though my FPL bills clearly proof there was no AC neglect, even though mold inspections clearly confirmed the AC leaks and mechanical failure and even though the building had to do major rennovations.. how pathetic is it to say air humidity when everything points to AC failure. After seeing how they deal with claims and especially seeing the reviews and how every policy holder is experiencing this issue, I will fully step up and hold them accountable once and for all and beginning to work on a serious class action lawsuit. More details to come. I DO NOT WISH THIS EXPERIENCE TO ANYONE, STAY AWAY!!!

I have an Assurant renters policy. Company is run by Geico. I recently did my car insurance with Geico and every time I try to log in and view my auto policy, all i see is my rental policy. I spoke to someone and they said they will fix it but still nothing. I need to change my payment card to another card before the next payment and when I call I get no answer.
