We started our journey with Aspirations School of Learning when my daughter was 18 months old, and it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for her development. From the very first day, the experience has been nothing short of outstanding. I still remember taking our initial tour while searching for the right daycare; I was told, “This is the best one you will find in San Diego,” and after being part of this community, I can say she was absolutely right. There are a few things that truly set Aspirations apart: • Exceptional Staff & Leadership: Every single person—from the directors to the teachers—is incredibly well-prepared, highly educated, and deeply passionate about what they do. You can feel the level of expertise in every interaction. • Reggio Emilia Philosophy: The curriculum leverages the Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, which I find to be the most effective way to develop a child’s natural curiosity and potential. It’s not just "daycare"; it’s a thoughtful, child-led educational environment. • Beautiful Environment: The installations are beautiful, clean, and specifically designed to spark creativity. The activities are engaging and purposeful, ensuring the kids are always learning through discovery. If you are looking for a program that prioritizes high-quality education and a nurturing environment, Aspirations is truly in a league of its own. We couldn't be happier!
All three of our children attend Aspirations School of Learning, and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. The teachers are nurturing, dedicated, and truly invested in each child's growth. The administrators are approachable and maintain open communication, creating a welcoming environment for families. We've been consistently impressed by the school's commitment to fostering curiosity and a love for learning in our kids. It’s been a wonderful place for our children to grow and thrive.
Aspiration has some great aspects. The Reggio Emilia approach encourages creativity and independence. The playground is excellent, and the focus on art and activity-based learning which made me interest about this school. However, I’ve experienced several frustrations. When I inquired about part-time classes, the manager said she would look into it but never followed up. I asked couple times and she just postpone it without any respond. It often feels like the school prioritizes families with more financial resources, which can be discouraging. In terms of teaching, while some teachers were great, one of my daughter’s preschool teacher was cold and disengaged. She didn’t connect with my child emotionally, which led to my daughter losing confidence and feeling left behind. It was a difficult experience. On a positive note, I want to thank Miss Melissa, who was different in TK class. She was warm and attentive, and I’m very grateful for her care and support. In general, while Aspiration has some good aspects, I can not recommend it. It feels like the school focuses more on appearance and financial gain than on the children and their families' benefit.
My daughter has been attending Aspirations for over a year now. We have been so impressed with every single teacher and staff member and the genuine care they have to see our child succeed. Our daughter had a tough transition starting and Ms Sonya in Room Due was so patient and loving with her, giving us ideas of how to make her transition from home to school easier every day. They gave us constant updates in those early days to ease our worries. This is such a special school and not to mention, a beautiful property for the kids to play and explore!
This school, Room Due, has been an unfortunate experience for us. Our daughter attended this school for three months, and it was far from ideal. Concerns about children's well-being were not given the attention they deserved, and the school maintained rigid principles. It was sad to see our daughter returning home with wounds and bruises almost every day. Even more concerning, when we inquired with the teachers, they often seemed unaware, suggesting inadequate supervision. The teachers displayed insincere smiles, and one of them had her own child in a neighboring classroom, which divided her focus. We are very relieved to have put this chapter behind us. It felt like Aspiration was more focused on profit than genuine care for the children. We believe that Aspiration falls short of stimulating the children's growth and development. We recognized this after a few weeks but hesitated to switch schools to avoid disrupting our daughter's routine. The school seemed to prioritize strict obedience, which can be detrimental to the self-esteem of children aged 18-36 months. Their primary expectation was for children to remain quiet and engage in structured activities, and if a child resisted, parents were immediately contacted with complaints. The directors' behavior was notably discourteous. Aspiration School of Learning appeared to contribute to children's feelings of depression and unhappiness. It appears that Aspiration places a higher value on robotic compliance rather than encouraging children to explore and think independently. This outdated approach may not be suitable for intelligent and inquisitive children. The school's cleanliness was questionable, and an unpleasant odor lingered throughout the day. Basic hygiene, such as cleaning a child's face if it became soiled with food, was overlooked. Also, the school had frequent closures, and its hours were limited. After just three months, our daughter expressed a strong desire to avoid attending, resulting in morning tears. We decided to transition to another large school, where our daughter's enthusiasm returned after just a week. This new school offered the added reassurance of security cameras, allowing us to observe our daughter throughout the day! We're relieved to have moved on from Aspiration School of Learning and found a place where our daughter can thrive.
