Aspen Ridge School has mostly very positive reviews praising caring staff, supportive community, and individual attention to children's needs. However, there are serious allegations from two parents regarding a staff member named Rebecca Mayo-Cody's inappropriate behavior and mishandling of a child with special needs.
DO NOT send your children to this school. My son has severe autism and struggles with loud noises and crowded spaces. I informed the school of this and they chose to send him to lunch group with a woman named Ms. Rebecca instead of the regular lunch period. He told me that he hated the first meeting with her and that she was pushing him to socialize with her and the other kids when he was not comfortable doing so. I called and had them remove him from lunch group, but the next day he came home in hysterics and told me she forced him to go again. There were even more students there who were loud and disrespectful. On top of that, he described to me in very vivid detail how she took her shoes off and started playing with her toes the whole time. She kept asking for the bag of chips that I packed him until he gave it to her and gave all the other students treats besides him. I reported this the principal and no action was taken. Needless to say I am disgusted with this school and the way they handle their special needs students. I will be taking this situation up with the school board.
REBECCA MAYO-CODY TOOK HER SHOES OFF IN FRONT OF MY KIDS. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID TO THIS SCHOOL. MY KID WALKED IN HER ROOM AND SHE STARTED TO WIGGLE HER SMELLY FEET IN THEIR FACE ON THE TABLE. AND THEN THE NURSE HAD TO SEND MY KIDS HOME BECAUSE THEY GOT SICK FROM HER FEET. THEY SAID HER FEET HAD BROWN SKID STAINS ON THEM. I AM ABSOLUTELY ENRAGED AND INFURIATED; IF I COULD GIVE THIS SCHOOLS NEGATIVES STARS I WOULD.
This school is god awful, given the chance id rather send my kid to little saint jamesthen let him spend another day at this school, he hasn't learned anything for 4 years straight and he complains to me daily about a woman named "ms Rebecca" He still doesnt know how to read or write well, hes been there since kindergarten DO NOT send your kids to this school
My two children went to Aspen Ridge across 9 years. We feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend a school with such caring, talented, knowledgeable and dedicated faculty, staff and administrators. An overall stellar experience!
I've had children at Aspen Ridge since 2015. Our family loves this school. We trust the leadership, there is a good school culture, and they are willing to do what each individual child needs. We highly recommend this school.
