I agree with the other reviewers. Not only are they unwelcoming, they are also extremely rude and quite passive aggressive towards you if you are a black or brown person. They won't tell you directly, but they'll let you know in so many words that they are only expecting you to be there for a little while and you'll also learn soon enough that the only reason they are even "accommodating " you is because of influx of people moving in for jobs and such into their neighborhood. So they are just "dealing with it", if you get my gist. If you are a black or brown person, I highly recommend you stay away.
Great music and meaningful sermon. Very friendly congregation. We have been searching for the right church for 4 yrs. We just may have found it in the Ashworth Church.
This church is a Baptist church that stays true to the Word of God. With missions at the heart of the church, Ashworth Road Baptist Church and its members participate in several missions around the metro Des Moines area, Iowa, South Dakota, Mexico and Haiti. Each week there is some sort of missions project to participate in. If you are looking for a church that feels like home, but has lots of opportunities to serve or to get your kids and teens involved, then this is the church you are looking for!
