The staff that I’ve encountered are good.. the only downside is having to deal with neighbors who don’t have consideration for others when it comes to noise . Literally driving me crazy hearing running back and forth balls bouncing like they outside from day too the we hours of the morning. Lack of sleep is an understatement! Kids will be kids but parents need to have proper structure for there kids when living in a shelter. I have not had peace and quiet for a while now and it just makes me want to give up .its already stressful being in a shelter to add inconsideration is just another headache.. The lack of sleep causes exhaustion and with exhaustion causes moodiness. I’m over it!
Alot of sexual harassments and Mice infested a lot of rats and rude security and they claim to be supervisor but so far I cursed out 8 of them very unprofessional when you first start it's ok but after a while you don't get any appointments and loose a lot of housing instead of getting housing I lost 3 apartments since I've been here and there's no elevator it's only steps and rats up and down the steps
Since living in the shelter no one have done orientation. Met with a caseworker about three times. The housing specialist is very arrogant and rude. Most of the staff are very respectful and kind. Didn’t have heat in unit for three weeks and maintenance said the will fix but never fixed. Complained of heating problems but was never help until I made a call to someone over them. But overall it was a nice and clean shelter with your own unit. The shelter can make some changes by assisting the clients needs more often.
Mouse infested shelter. Don’t accept this shelter. The workers don’t care cause they don’t live there.
Worst place ever that DHS can send you to! They don’t follow up with housing the workers don’t work with you they talk about clients all day and smoke cigarettes but then again if your in BROWNSVILLE WHAT DO U EXPECT??? Brownsville is not the place for families even the rats that’s a size of cat and mice all in the units they need remodel the whole damn building
