Almost Home Childcare

My children have both attended Almost Home Childcare for years! Mrs. Katrina and her staff are amazing and always greeting with a smile. When I see the smile on my son's face and how much he has learned at Almost Home it shows how much they care about your children. I look forward to many more years to come with my son going there for after school care. I have done drop ins and the children are always smiling and learning. Words can not express how happy I am with Almost Home!

Ms. Katrina and her staff have been awesome. My daughter & my son both attend this daycare. They fully prepared my daughter for kindergarten, with so much knowledge that she is ahead in school. They communicate and are very transparent. They have been a great asset to my family.

My two kids have been here since birth (a 7 year old and a 2 year old) which makes some of these reviews bothersome. Everyone here has always seemed like family to me. My kids even feel the same. I walk in to a greeting and my boys both get a big hug and a invite to breakfast. Whichever staff meets me at the door helps sign us in which follows with the door locking as I walk out. The sound of the door locking is satisfying to my ears to ensure my boys are safe. Daycare fees are lower or the same as most day cares in the area. Late fees aren’t a factor to me but I’ve seen them posted and seem very much manageable for anyone. I’ve been dealing with Ms. Katrina and Almost Home for more than 7 years and these folks are honestly like my family! I am 100% certain I’m not the only one to feel this way as most of the parents I run into have been there as long as me and my family.

I have loved this daycare since the first day I placed my 2 year old in it! I am so sad that I have to pull him out (relocation). Owner Ms. Katrina & ALL of the teachers are amazing with my son, I wish I could move them with me! The rates are affordable & my son has really learned so much ever since he started here! If you like small ratios this place is for you! It's like an in-home daycare but with the structure of a facility. If I ever move back to Lawrenceville I know my son has a spot at Almost Home Childcare!

I am a former parent at this daycare. This owner primary concern is Money and not the welfare of the child. My child was sick with the flu, had a Tempature of 105 so she had to miss school for a week. Due to that she was unable to attend the before school care at this facility. When I returned with my child the following week the owner was belligerent, unprofessional and rude in front of the kids demanding I pay her for a week of before care services even though my child was out with the flu. She took no concern for the well being of my child. She never asked if everything was Okay. What was wrong or anything. Her first and only priority was Payment. Instead of addressing this concern that I needed to pay for last week when my child was not there, she underhandedly ran my credit card for payment first then informed me that the payment was for the week when my child was out with the flu. Owner then wanted to demand payment for the current week. As well as “late fees” that she claimed I owed but could not show me any documentation. Please keep in mind my child is only at this facility for Before Care which is only for maybe an hour in the mornings before she is dropped off to her elementary school. The owner refused refund and expeditiously called the police in the presence of kids including my child and gave falsified information. Her actions were very unprofessional. After this event happened my child saw the way the owner acted in front of her, and my child told me she was afraid to go back there. I didn’t want to give One star on this review but ZERO stars is not an Option. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone if you are looking for a daycare that truly cares about your child’s well being. Please look elsewhere.
