What Parents Say
All About Kids receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most parents praising warm, caring staff and quality learning environments. However, two detailed negative reviews cite serious concerns about administrative handling of families and inconsistent care quality in the toddler classrooms, including inadequate structure, punitive discipline approaches, and minimal engagement.
We were with AAK for three years. The first two years in the infant and baby classrooms were fine, but once my daughter moved to the toddler side of the building, all of those rooms had teachers with little patience and the experience went downhill fast. The environment felt negative, unstructured, and punitive. Teachers seemed constantly irritated by completely normal toddler behavior, and their go-to solution for everything was yelling or making kids sit on the wall. They only did about 30 to 45 minutes of actual activities a day. The rest was endless free play with the same toys that never changed. The kids were bored and restless, which naturally led to more acting out and instead of engaging or guiding them, the teachers just got more frustrated. I had multiple meetings with them to discuss better approaches that work well for my daughter. She responds well to calm redirection and clear expectations, and they always agreed in those meetings. But when I’d follow up later, they’d say, “No, we were too busy” to actually implement what we had discussed. One day at pick up I walked in and saw all the kids sitting silently watching tablets for the last 45 minutes of the day (per usual) so they wouldn’t “make another mess.” My daughter was sitting well but singing “E-I-E-I-O,” and the teacher immediately told her to stop and be quiet. The expectation was literally for toddlers to sit still and silent in front of a screen until pickup. Snack time was just as concerning. The kids used to eat at the table, but when some dumped their bowls of Cheerios on the table, instead of changing how snacks were served or addressing it differently, their solution was to sit all the toddlers on the floor and let them dump them out and eat them off the ground. It wasn’t just unsanitary but it showed how little effort or energy the teachers had to actually engage with the kids. When my daughter switched schools, I asked how she liked it, and she said, “Good, these people actually take care of me.” That broke my heart because I had never said anything like that around her, but she simply felt the difference herself. For $300 a week, parents deserve teachers who enjoy children, provide structure, and guide kids with patience and care. If AAK is your only frame of reference, please know there are much better options out there. My daughter is thriving now which is proof that the problem wasn’t her. I hope AAK takes a hard look at how they operate because kids deserve so much better than what we experienced on the toddler side of the building.
The staff at All About Kids are warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in the well-being of each child. They take the time to get to know each child's unique personality, interests, and needs, tailoring their approach to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. The staff's enthusiasm and energy are contagious, creating a positive and stimulating environment that fosters socialization, exploration, and learning.
My Granddaughter started AAK in the potty training room. She did so well and enjoyed the daily activities and bonding with the staff. She graduated from preschool there and is excelling in school and a big part of that is because of all that she learned while she was at AAK!
Thank you for the best seven years for my two girls to learn and grow. We still go back and visit our favorite teachers.
Literally could not ask for a better daycare. I’m a first time Mom & my Husband and I work full time. All About Kids Oak Hills has made the daycare experience an incredible one. The staff is unbelievable, they literally treat us and our son like we’ve known them for years. I brag about our daycare constantly because we are just so lucky to have them.
