We were struck by Mimi's kindness and professionalism with our first phone conversation. She felt like a friend right away and fortunately remains a I'm very good one. We needed to find a preschool that felt like an extension of our home, where our son could flourish while gaining exposure to our faith. The Gan is the place for you if you want a safe, nurturing, clean, friendly environment for your child, while getting an excellent education with a Jewish foundation. Mimi is not only The Director of The Gan, but an educated mother of 5 and has her finger on the pulse of what's new in education She picks amazing staff as well. They are smart, experienced and passionate about what they do. Thank you for enriching our lives Mimi!

After researching a variety of other preschools in the area, I decided to send my daughter to the Gan four years ago. She and her two brothers went through all of their preschool years in this amazing environment. The educators there not only care about their academic learning, they provide the children with a loving atmosphere and communicate with the parents on a daily basis, keeping us up-to-date on every nuance of our children's day. I feel so fortunate to have been able to provide my children with this opportunity to have their personalities and minds cultivated in a loving, nurturing environment, with a focus on traditional Judaica, while learning academically at their own pace. My children were ready to read when they were three, and the teachers at the Gan readily honed in on that, instead of holding them back like other schools may have done. At the same time, many children who are not ready are not pushed. I think that a child's emotional well-being is put first at the Gan, yet their academic learning is not put on the back-burner.

The school is an amazing place! Our girls love to go to school! That's our third year, the teachers and the school community are amazing! Knowing that the girls are there give us the most amazing piece of mind. They learn, discover and explore every day and come home with great stories and memories! Their Jewish experiences are filled with joy and fun! We love it!!!

The Gan is the most unbelievable place! My 2 children are LOVING it! They excitedly get ready for school every morning and can not wait to see their friends and teachers! They are so sad when they have to miss a day. The environment is so safe, nurturing and loving and they truly care so much about the emotional well being of the child, that the child should grow to be a confident happy child- adult... :) Of course the children are learning in leaps and bounds!

Truly, an amazingly progressive and warm environment. We actually live in Southeast Portland and drive to Southwest every day to bring our kids to this school because we love it so much. The teachers and school director are trained in the Reggio method, and Jewish community is the backbone of the school. They teach cutting edge, progressive, experiential ways to navigate math, science, literacy, technology, outdoor play, etc...while learning to be good people and proud of their heritage. And somehow they provide this at affordable pricing. R.Hall MA, CPC
