Discrimination, Retaliation, and Defamation A serious incident and subsequent misconduct by Darnall’s staff on October 2nd, 2025. The facts described below constitute discrimination against a child with disabilities, retaliation against me as the child’s care provider, and the fabrication of defamatory allegations. The school’s actions have placed the well-being of a vulnerable child at risk and have harmed my professional reputation and livelihood. I. Factual Background On the morning of October 2nd, 2025, while escorting a child with special needs to the school entrance, another student engaged in discriminatory behavior toward this child. This incident took place in plain view at the front of the school. When I attempted to address the concern respectfully outside school grounds, after the parent of the other child had dropped her daughter off, the parent seemed dismissive of the matter and minimized her child’s discriminatory conduct. After reciting the facts of her daughter’s actions, she conceded and presented an apology on behalf of her daughter. As we about to leave, one of the school administrators acquires, in Spanish, if everything was okay. The mother of the other child responded in Spanish with the erroneous understanding of what had happened. I followed to provide the correct version of events. Upon providing school staff with the facts of the discriminatory behavior, the administrator immediately took issues with the fact I approached the parent, claiming I did not have any rights to talk to the parents directly. She argued I should have addressed the school staff. The Director of Center got involved. She offered no interest in protecting the interest of the child with special needs whom I reported is a victim of discriminatory behavior. Neither she promised to initiate an investigation. Instead, her staff and the center’s Director shifted blame onto me, Later the same day, upon the request of the child’s father, I accompanied the father to a meeting at the school with members of the staff, including the center’s Director. For context, the father does not speak English. He barely understands few words in Spanish. Through out the short meeting, which happened in English and Spanish, before the center’s Director kicked me out of the meeting, she offered any plans to investigate the issue. Instead, she then fabricated an accusation that I had acted violently, raising my fist threatening the other parent. This is categorically false. At no time did I engage in violent, threatening, or inappropriate conduct. The Director claimed the child is not a victim of discriminatory behavior. She accused me of escalating the situation. The staff went further by providing the parents with contact information for another child care provider, telling the parent to replace me— a direct interference with my professional relationship, which undermined my role as a licensed care provider, and retaliatory in nature. The following day, I went to drop the child to school, the center’s Director denied me access to the school. She called the police. The police escorted me, the child with special needs, and another child, who accompanied me, off the school grounds. The officer told me the Director claimed I threatened a parent the day prior. She banned me from coming to the school. The child has not been back to school. Her parents recently got birth to a new born. Father’s work schedule interferes with the school start time. Frighteningly, the parents expressed to me they fear the school fails to protect their daughter. They expressed concern that in the spin of two weeks after their daughter started going to the school, they had observed signs of neglect. They told me the school called them few weeks prior to this incident to inform them that their daughter had fallen off the staircase at school. Moreover, the parents expressed concern that their daughter would be coming home from school with food residues on her hair. I have attempted to get in touch with the center’s executives. It has not been possible.
