What Parents Say
Adventure Club receives mixed reviews with a significant divide between locations. The Des Moines location has positive feedback about activities, staff friendliness, and billing ease. However, the Schererville location has serious complaints regarding incident management, supervision, billing issues, and food policies.
I would not recommend Adventure Club in Schererville at all. The billing is always incorrect, and the kids barely do anything productive or “adventurous.” If your child is there until 6pm, I genuinely feel bad remind you kids eat lunch at school around 11:30am they offer snacks one time and won’t even let the kids eat food from home unless it’s a medical condition with a doctor’s note. That makes no sense for an after-school program connected to a school. On top of that, my son had a student spit on him. He was scared to speak up, and instead of taking his feelings seriously, the staff dismissed everything. There are cameras, but no one ever followed up with me about what they actually saw. That tells me everything I need to know about the “supervision” they swear they have. It’s extremely concerning. For what parents pay, this program should not be this disorganized or dismissive. Thankfully, this is my son’s last year here, because I’m beyond tired of the games. Zero out of ten. I cannot wait until my grandmother starts watching my son after school instead. I’m a mother who does not play about her child, and the lack of accountability here is ridiculous.
Adventure Club in Schererville needs to be held accountable. A child being spit on is assault, and the way it was brushed off instead of supporting him is unacceptable. How do you have cameras and still can’t give parents answers? Do better.
Adventure Club in Schererville is a joke. A kid spit on another kid and the staff basically acted like it didn’t matter. How do you supervise children but miss THAT? Trash behavior from the people running that program. Really it’s NO STARS !!!!
I’m extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability shown at Adventure Club in Schererville. Ignoring an incident where a child was spit on is unacceptable. Parents trust these programs with their children’s safety. That trust was broken.
First of all there is NO adventure. Your kid is doing NOTHING after school but entertaining themselves. The billing is obviously done by a child as it makes no sense and you get ridiculously charged with invoice after invoice that makes no sense. Melissa the director is rude and immature. They take advantage of being the only option in Dyer as the school bus’ route somehow ironically cuts off directly across the street from the only other daycare and will not drop your kid off at the other day care. If you have another option DO NOT SEND YOUR KID TO ADVENTURE CLUB.
