What Parents Say
Action Day Nurseries & Primary Plus in Mountain View receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with parents praising the caring and patient teachers, play-based curriculum, and flexible hours. One parent reported a serious bullying incident with an initially dismissive response from leadership, though they noted the issue was subsequently resolved.
We are very happy with the school. My daughter has been attending Action Day School (in Mountain View) for almost a year. When she joined Room 2 (for 2.5-year-old kids), Ms. Narges and Ms. Lorie were very kind and caring, and they helped her adjust to a new school. She still misses them after moving to Room 3 (for 3-year-old kids). Her new teachers, Ms. Serena, and Ms. Debbie are also great. I appreciate the play-based curriculum, the summer program, and, most importantly, that my daughter enjoys attending the school. The school hours, 7 am - 6 pm, offer plenty of flexibility for working parents, as well as only a few days off per year. The kids work on projects, read stories with their teachers, and have plenty of outdoor playtime every day. Additionally, there are several other classes, including dance, sports, and Spanish. During the summer program, they make weekly themes for kids, as well as weekly shows/performances by third parties.
EVERYONE, literally all the teachers, we've met at Action Day are so sweet and friendly and so great with all the children and babies. We're currently in the process of moving up from room A to room B and Ms Jackie and Ms Jazmin are our usual primary teachers there so we'll highlight them! (But thank you everyone that has contributed to our baby's and Room A's thriving!!) They are ABSOLUTE rockstars. Both teachers are so compassionate, calm, patient, informative, and just all that first time parents dropping off their baby(ies) could ask for. They take the time to get to know each child warmly and tenderly as if they were their own and they also take the time and patience to help first time mom's like me return to work without crashing out. Could not recommend them enough!
Update: Senior leadership acted promptly to address the issue, and with the support of all teachers and the center director, the bullying behaviors have since been effectively managed. Lack of Care for Student Safety and Bullying Incidents Our son had been a happy child at this center until recently, when a new child joined and began repeatedly bullying him. Two weeks ago, I noticed deep marks around my son’s eye area. To my shock, none of the teachers had noticed or reported this injury. Fortunately, my son is old enough (4.5 years old) to clearly explain what happened and identify who did it. After I reported the incident to one of the teachers, she took it seriously, showed genuine empathy, and escalated the issue to the director, Jessica. The teacher assured us the matter would be addressed immediately, and her response was caring and professional. Unfortunately, the same child has continued to harass my son and other children. On multiple occasions during pickup, I heard other children independently say things like, “He hit my head again,” referring to the same child. This suggests an ongoing pattern, not an isolated incident. What has been most concerning and disappointing is the response from the center director, Jessica, after I submitted a formal complaint. Although she called me promptly, her reaction was defensive, dismissive, and notably lacking in empathy and accountability. Rather than explaining what steps would be taken to prevent further incidents, she immediately questioned the credibility of my son’s account, suggesting he might be “imaginative.” She refused to take his statement seriously or implement any proactive measures, claiming she could not identify the bully because no teacher had witnessed any of the incidents. This response raises serious concerns about supervision, incident reporting, and the center’s commitment to student safety. Dismissing a child’s injuries and repeated reports—especially when supported by visible marks in sensitive areas and consistent accounts from multiple children—is unacceptable. Parents trust childcare centers to protect their children and address safety concerns promptly and responsibly, and unfortunately, that trust has been undermined in this case. Therefore, I would not recommend this childcare center.
We have loved having Ms. Jen as our little one’s teacher. She is so sweet, very loving, and takes such good care of our infant. And she makes sure to communicate updates and provide recommendations like what the child likes to eat, how they like to play etc. We are very happy with Ms. Jen!
We want to send our heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Salazar in Room C. Our daughter started at Action Day when she was 16 months old. Before that, she had spent almost three months with us traveling out of the U.S. during the summer, being breastfed on demand and constantly by my side. Naturally, we were very worried about how she would adjust to school, being away from Mom, not having breastmilk whenever she wanted, and needing to nap on her own. However, thanks to Ms. Salazar’s gentle care and patient guidance, she adapted so quickly. Within less than ten days, she stopped crying at drop-off. Ms. Salazar always speaks to the little ones in such a tender, calm voice, and I can tell her steady presence brings them comfort and security. We truly trust Ms. Salazar and feel so grateful for the loving care she gives to our daughter every day. She has made our family’s transition so much smoother, and we couldn’t be more thankful for her kindness and dedication.
