Facilities are great. We had been members and were in the system and waited for an hour in line to get in the pool and never did. Didn’t even need to do forms. There were two people on staff and one just refused to help the other so one person was trying to check in everyone and it was so slow and inefficient. They didn’t care to help or let us in - but we have three young kids all who were pretty upset it don’t work out. So can’t recommend it at all as it’s not really serious about helping people enjoy the space.
Honestly hate to write a review like this but I had to say something. I drove 20 minutes here because no one was answering the phones. I was inquiring about the angel tree charity to see if I could get some gifts for some children in need. I got here and a mother with 3 children came there to pay for the day pass for her sons to play basketball. Patricia was at the front desk and told the mother and children the registration was closed for the day. The mother was confused bc she had just called a few hours earlier and they told her to come. Patricia took her glasses off and slowly reiterated that the registration was closed again. Her son’s whole basketball team was already in there playing. Patricia told them there was nothing she could do and they couldn’t come in. It was a hour left before closing. The mother even asked if they could just let them in for the hour since her sons team was in there and no one told her there was a deadline time to be there to sign up when she had called earlier. The lady refused to help and made them leave. I found this appalling honestly. Her attitude was passive aggressive and I don’t understand why a woman like her would work here with that type of attitude. When I approached her and asked about the salvation Army Angel tree charity she had no idea what I was talking about and couldn’t help me at all. I asked why she wasn’t answering the phone and she wouldn’t give me an answer. She just shrugged her shoulders. How do you work here and not have any information on the charities or donations. Honestly this experience was so distasteful and disappointing. This incident happened around 6:30 pm November 15.
I’ve been trying to book a birthday party for my 5-year-old daughter at this venue for several weeks now, starting back in early August. She was incredibly excited about the idea of having her party at the water park, and I’ve made every effort to secure a date—calling and emailing almost daily. I was initially told that the event coordinator was out sick, which I completely understand—life happens. However, I was eventually in contact with the director, Carmetta, and the experience was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of offering assistance or an alternative solution, she was dismissive and rude, telling me it wasn't her fault the coordinator was out and even suggested I "look into other venue options." I followed up via email, hoping for a more helpful response, but I received no reply at all. At this point, more than 60 days have passed since I began trying to book this party. Even accounting for staff absence, that’s far too long for any business to leave a customer without proper support—especially when it involves a child’s special day. I’m extremely disappointed with how this was handled. My daughter was so looking forward to this party, and it’s heartbreaking to have to scramble for a new plan so close to the date. I expected much better communication and professionalism from a family-oriented business.
I absolutely love this place! The grounds and the facilities are beautiful. They have a very nice fitness center and their group exercise classes are great. They even have aquatic fitness classes. Everyone there is very supportive. The atmosphere is much more positive and inviting than regular gyms. They also have other services and events for the community.
I’m very disappointed with how I was treated by one of the managers, Carmetta, during a recent phone call. I called to ask about some paper guest passes I received when I first signed up for my membership. The system has since changed, so the paper passes can’t be scanned but I was able to use them last year because a manager in June 2024 honored them and told me I could continue using the remaining passes since they don’t have an expiration date. When I tried to explain that, Carmetta barely let me talk, spoke with an attitude, and was completely unprofessional. It wasn’t just what she said it was how she said it. She even accused me of calling multiple times and every day, which isn’t true. I only called once about two weeks ago and spoke with a young lady who was polite/professional and told me only a manager could override the passes. Instead of checking my name like I was telling her to answer her question of who told me that, she was very RUDE and said “I don’t have to check your name and none of my staff would’ve told you that “ or at least listen to me instead of talking over me. Carmetta made me feel dismissed and disrespected and to make it worse she hung up after saying “I’m not giving you an answer just come in person”. I always liked the Kroc Center and its programs, but this experience left me extremely disappointed. Because of how I was treated, I’ll definitely be canceling my membership. I really hope management looks into how members are spoken to, respect, patience, and kindness make a huge difference.
