A Step Ahead Preschool & Childcare

We love A Step Ahead so much. They have been family run for many years and are genuine, kind people. They love and care about the kids. I always felt safe leaving my daughter there whether it was on the childcare side or the preschool side. They have a high standard for learning and also love celebrating holidays and incorporating music in the classroom (which I love). My daughter was well prepared and ahead of the game for kindergarten after 2 years there! Highly recommend!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I'm in awe of the 2 year old preschool program. My son is pushed in his early education in the best ways, like already practicing writing his first name, and I love all of the art work he brings home. I was so nervous about him adapting after spending 24/7 with me since birth but after a handful of emotional drop offs ( that the staff was completely sympathetic towards ) he all of the sudden was running to his classroom door with a dragging backpack in tow! His teachers are warm, always smiling and clearly experienced. I trust my son's safety and education with A Step Ahead 1000%

As my daughter is two weeks away from leaving A Step Ahead and entering the big bad world of kindergarten, I reflect back on this chapter of her life and the wonderful experience that A Step Ahead has been for her and our family. My daughter spent two WONDERFUL years with the staff, whom she absolutely adores. I could not be more more happy with the professionalism they showed my wife and I, and the care and the education my daughter received while she was there. She's entering kindergarten knowing certain words on site, knows basic math problems, counts to 100 with ease, and so much more. She is MORE than ready to tackle kindergarten and she has the confidence to do so. She's grown so much from a shy and timid three year old, to a vocal, positive, confident five year old, and I credit the staff at A Step Ahead for a lot of that. They keep the kids active and engaged, supplying with them with so many activities and learning experiences. There are holiday parties, Christmas performances, professional visitors (police officers and others), field trips (zoo, pumpkin patch, end of the year park visits) and so much more fun for the kids. My daughter would be disappointed NOT to go to school most of the time if we kept her home and she was always excited to go back if we had been gone for any extended period of time. I never worried about her when she was in their care, I knew that she was in good hands. They took good care of her. They wouldn't jump the gun if she sneezed and call one of us at work to come get her, but they were also quick to call when it was a legitimate issue. They were open on days when other schools were closed due to snow, they were open on the minor holidays and they were great about communicating when they would and wouldn't be open. The communication with the teachers and staff was always top notch. They held parent/teacher conferences a couple times a year, showing us her progression by showing us her class work at different stages throughout the year and filling us in how she was doing academically and socially. We were never guessing what was going on with our daughter. Again, I can't thank the staff enough. Ms. Jess, Ms. Ayesa, Ms Gillian, Ms Chris, and everyone else that contributed to my daughter's growth, we appreciated them so MUCH! We will always look back on this chapter of my daughter's life with warm fondness and happiness. A Step Ahead was truly an amazing place that I would recommend 100%! 2025 Edit: My daughter is just finishing up her kindergarten year. She routinely scored in the 80-90% percentile in state testing in all areas (math, vocab, reading, ect). While I would love to give all the credit to her genetics *ahem*, I have to give a lot of credit to A Step Ahead for establishing the foundation. Thank you again!

Wow! After spending years at another so called “learning center” we were lucky enough to get an open spot here. Let me tell you, the care, professionalism, and the COMMUNICATION are second to none. This preschool is incredible! The teachers are kind, caring, and well equipped. The director is top notch. The center is tailored to kids perfectly, and is always clean and in tip top shape. I would choose to enroll my son 100 times over again. We are so grateful for ASAP, and to all of the kind teachers that are helping our children learn and grow.

Both of my boys were in preschool at a step ahead, and my youngest moved to the childcare side this year. I love that it’s half childcare and half preschool and he comes home with multiple papers everyday and ten different stories about friends and teachers. I trust every teacher there Implicitly and my sons loved all of them, and they all know him by name and are SO patient with him and my oldest for different reasons :) They do evals in the spring and fall and explain exactly where my babies are at and what they need to work on for the preschool side of things and work really hard to get my boys into the right class with the right teacher for them. They have holiday parties and field trips, as well as a Christmas program and music. My 5 year old was more than ready for kinder and is well above the rest of his class, and I know a lot of it was the time he spent at this preschool. I cannot sing their praises enough and recommend A Step Ahead to all of my friends. They are amazing at communicating and I never have to wonder what is going on. They are THE BEST for my kids, any my peace of mind.
