A Place Like Home

A Place Like Home is an absolutely incredible daycare facility. After a dear friend recommended APLH, I was lucky enough to get a spot for my two daughters (ages 2.5 and 6 months) and have only wonderful things to report. Having only had my children in the care of a nanny up until their placement at APLH, I was concerned about the 1:1 attention and their individual needs being met in a group setting and my expectations were exceeded infinitely. I could truly go on and on about our experience there but the directors are incredible—efficient, thoughtful, and loving to say the least. The staff is so warm and welcoming and made the transition seamless for my family. The facility is immaculate and full to the brim of engaging activities and developmentally appropriate toys. I loved receiving updates on their day, having the opportunity to celebrate holidays with APLH, and the ease of messaging back and forth with the teachers whenever I needed to. Cannot recommend APLH enough.

A Place Like Home is the world's best daycare center. Non-corporate, run by directors who are absolutely passionate about child development and education, and benefiting from very low teacher turnover--teachers who show up engaged and devoted to the children in their care, and who revel in seeing their little babies grow up--it checks every box I would ever want from a childcare center. We have two children in the program and our older child will age out and start kindergarten next fall. I can't even think about him leaving APLH without my stomach flipping. Our younger child started when she was 12 weeks old! APLH has created a loving, intellectually stimulating environment, with many different activities, themes, experiments, and projects depending on the day and season. Our children have thrived with the structure and rhythm of the curriculum, which strikes a perfect balance between allowing children time for play and imagination, and age-appropriate lessons and skill development. The staff and administration know the children like the back of their hand, and have been invaluable with troubleshooting parenting challenges and other bumps in the road. We are truly a team and the children and their safety and happiness are unquestionably their highest priority. I really, really mean that. It's hard to even capture so much of what makes it so special. Every member of the center puts so much of themselves into their work and that passion and love for the children shows. Aside from the practical benefits of a reliable, extremely well run daycare, APLH has succeeded in building a true community. Without even trying, we have befriended the other parents in the program, gained a deep roster of exceptionally qualified date night babysitters, and found the village that has helped our children grow and thrive. My friends with similar aged children in different areas and different child care arrangements don't seem to have had the same good fortune that we've had. Truly, I can't recommend APLH highly enough. They have started our children's educational path on such a positive note, and it's just so *functional*! They're well organized, accountable, the facility is well maintained, the play areas are beautiful and adored by the kids...I could go on forever. So grateful our children can call it their second home.

We absolutely love APLH. It is truly unlike any other daycare! We are so grateful to have found it and will be having our second join in a few months!
