What Parents Say
A Place for Children has mixed reviews with significant concerns outweighing positives. While two parents praised the facilities and staff, eight negative reviews cite billing disputes, inadequate supervision, misrepresented academic programs, staff concerns, and allegations of inappropriate treatment of children.
They seem very clean and organized and very nice. But the moment you give them everything they ask for to set up billing they charge more than agreed or stated on their papers. And then as your trying to get things fixed they give you less than 24hrs on holiday weekend. So when I was trying to remove my children from the facility the owner followed me out to my car nagging at me about the balance and how she was doing so much for me, taking care of my child... all I could think was It's your job your being paid for...or where being paid for.
While the facility is nice and secure, the director "TEACHER" Sharon is overbearing and obnoxious. For being a Christian based daycare they sure do talk about other people a lot!!! I recommend this facility to anyone who likes to pay for sub standard care and services not rendered. "Teacher" Sharon will gladly take your money!
I enrolled my son, almost 3 at the time, into this school. I was told they had a great scholastic program, and I was given a nicely put together pamphlet that noted what the children do throughout the day. Sounded great. My childs mother began to work there a few weeks later. She told me that there is no scholastic program, and the children are merely "watched" by very old ladies. I was disturbed by this. The next day i walked in unannounced, kids were everywhere but not an adult in sight. I walked freely into the room, where i was met with a "teacher" that had to be in her late 70s early 80s, and appeared to need help herself. The children were running all around in and out of the classroom. I took my boy and went home, appalled. I called Sharon and sustained her about the academic part of the school. She started to give me the same speech, until I reminded her that my childs mother worked there. She then flipped her story and said children 3 years old aren't ready to learn. I couldn't believe this lady was telling me this, and she seemed very distraught at the questions i was asking. Please, if you care about your child, do not enroll in this school. It is borderline horrible, and the fact that they use the Lord to get business infuriates me. They must have to pray a lot because they prey a lot.
If I could give this place a no star I would. Please whatever you do don't take your children to this place. Forgetting a child outside for 3 hours unattended! Everyone there is so rude and fake. They will smile at you but you can feel the negativity there. They will over charge you for everything. Its no good my kids would cry when I dropped them off. Until one day I stopped taking them there.
Teacher Sharon works very hard for the kids. The facilities are great. This is a top-notch preschool.
